Down The TBR Hole|#14

Hey guys

Down The TBR Hole is a weekly meme that revolves around cleansing your TBR of all those books you’re never going to read and sort through it all to know what’s actually on there. It was created by Lost in A Story.

Most of you probably know this feeling, your Goodreads TBR pile keeps growing and growing and it seems like there is no light at the end of the tunnel. You keep adding, but you add more than you actually read. And then when you’re scrolling through your list, you realize that you have no idea what half the books are about and why you added them. Well that’s going to change!

It works like this:

Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.Order on ascending date added.Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books. Of course if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.Read the synopses of the books,Decide: keep it or should it go?

From last time I have 139 books. You can view that post here.

I’m going to be doing it a bit differently this time around. I want to decide in bulk what I’m going to do so I’ll insert the picture with a goodreads link and give the verdict.

SoundlessThe Infinite Sea (The 5th Wave, #2)Wither (The Chemical Garden, #1)Vengeance Road (Vengeance Road, #1)Since You've Been GoneIcons (Icons, #1)Lament: The Faerie Queen's Deception (Books of Faerie, #1)Cruel Beauty

The above books I’m going to remove. I haven’t read the first in the series or I’m currently not interested in them. That’s not to say I won’t ever read them but not in the near future.

My Heart and Other Black HolesThe Winner's Curse (The Winner's Trilogy, #1)The Winner's Crime (The Winner's Trilogy, #2)The Warrior Heir (The Heir Chronicles, #1)The Iron Trial (Magisterium, #1)Six of Crows (Six of Crows, #1)These Broken Stars (Starbound, #1)Something Strange and Deadly (Something Strange and Deadly, #1)Strange the Dreamer (Strange the Dreamer, #1)NimonaWalk on Earth a Stranger (The Gold Seer Trilogy, #1)Persuasion

The above books are books I’m going to keep. I’m interested in reading them and see myself reading them in the near future.

Books kept:12

Books Removed:8

Do you agree with my decisions?

  1. I need to read Soundless because I love virtually everything Richelle Mead writes and it’s one of the only books I HAVEN’T read by her, but I can’t get it from the library…. so… I still haven’t read it.

Also, Wither has been on my TBR FOREVER, and I finally got a copy and still haven’t read it, but I totally plan to.

Strange the Dreamer is probably one of my favorite books EVER, Laini Taylor is just such a creative freaking genius. So totally keep that on your TBR. And of course everyone will tell you to keep Six of Crows. Winner’s Curse is actually pretty great, and I totally should catch up on that series.

    1. I’ve read some of The Vampire academy books but not all.

Wither sounded interesting to me but I don’t think I’ll get to it soon but if I see it around I’ll definitely pick it up.

I really want to read strange the dreamer , I’ve read the Daughter of Smoke and Bone Trilogy and loved it. Yeah, everyone loves six of crows. Winner’s curse sounds really good.

      1. I haven’t read the last book in the DoSaB series yet because I want to have an unread book by Laini Taylor to look forward to…. so.. maybe when she comes out with something new? Or obviously when I need more Laini Taylor.

I read all the Vampire Academy books and then the Bloodlines series (the spin off series to VA) and I actually liked it WAY more. I’ve also read The Glittering Court series and enjoyed it.

      2. I binge read the entire Vampire Academy series in three days, I got the whole series on Kindle and read it straight through. For the Bloodlines series I got each book from the library, but liked them much more than the Vampire Academy series, probably because Adrian was my favorite character.

  2. The Iron Trial is actually in my TBR. I’ll get to it one day but I have so many books by Cassandra Clare I haven’t read yet from Shadowhunter Chronicles.

I own SOC but I actually want to get rid of it. I DNF’d it few years ago and I don’t think I’m going to try it again any time soon.
