Today I’m going to be sharing with you my favourite books I read in 2018. These weren’t necessarily released this year, just ones I read this year. This was very hard as there were many great books but I narrowed it down to 12 books! I didn’t include any rereads as they were my favourite in other years.
Emma By Jane Austen
I absolutely loved this book and wanted to reread this right away. I refrained. I don’t know what it was exactly that I loved about this book but I liked that it was a slow paced story and at times Emma could be annoying but I really liked her overall.
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson
I listened to this book on audio book and was instantly hooked. I wanted to listen to it all the time. I found this book to be mysterious, and it had me at the edge of my seat.
Legendary by Stephanie Garber
I loved Legendary!I really liked the characters and the relationships. It was very magical and I loved the atmosphere.
The Poppy War by R.F Kuang
This book was hard to get through because of the subject matter but I loved it. PLUS it didn’t have a romance which was very refreshing.
Queen of Air And Darkness by Cassandra Clare
This book didn’t feel like a finale but more of like it was starting something new, which is what the tagline or whatever it was said. It made me excited for the next books to come.
Dreams of Gods and Monsters by Laini Taylor
I loved this book and the character developent some characters got. I can’t remember specifics because I read this towards the start of the year. BUT know this. I LOVED it.
When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon
I loved the representation in this book. I could identify with Dimple because our cultures are similar, and I understood many of the references and I loved that.
The Burning Maze By Rick Riordan
This book killed me. I did not expect what happened to happen. I’m glad Rick Riordan took some risks and I can’ wait to read the next book.
Kingdom of Ash
This is a favourite, although it didn’t happen as I thought it would. I am devastated because of the deaths and that it’s the end of the series.I understand the flaws but I still loved it.
The Illuminae Files by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
The final book,Obsidio came out this year and I read all 3 this year. I loved all the books but especially Gemina. The concept of the book was what I love to read about.
The Gilded King by Josie Jaffrey
I loved the take on vampires this book took. It was so different and I was so immersed in the story and knowing the history of the vampires. I have the second book for review and I really need to get to it.
Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton
So I totally forgot to add this to my favourites because i read this in January. I’m adding this after I’m posting oops. But I loved this book and i listened to the audiobook and i’m planning to listening to the rest on audio book.I finished it very quick considering it was an audio book.
Those were my favourite 12 (technically 14) books of 2018.
